- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Tried to help a friend in her 70's request a prescription refill. There were so many automated steps to do anything that my friend hung up in frustration. I called the office number and tried to manage the automated system for her. I finally found what to push for prescription refill requests. There were then about 8 other automated steps to go through including "state and spell your last name and press pound", etc and asking questions my friend wasn't able to answer but the office should have the information such as "spell the name of the medication", "how many milligrams do you take-- press pound," "how many refills are you requesting".... how many doses a day and how many pills in a dose, name phone and location of pharmacy... I have worked in hospitals over 25 years and have never encountered a less patient-centered system. My friend would have given up and gone without important medication because of the barrier of putting in a request.August 24, 2017by Theresa Regan
